Halloween is right around the corner. If you’re anything like me, you probably have no idea what you’re going to dress up as. Don’t fret, I am here to help. I have compiled a list of the most iconic, easiest, funniest and laziest ideas to ensure you are prepared for Halloween.
This first idea is great for either a couples costume or solo idea. Bob Ross is a great idea for a Halloween costume. If you are dressing up alone this year, you can be the infamous painter yourself, or if you want to enlist your roommate, friend or significant other, one of you can dress up as Bob and the other can dress up as a painting of his. All you need is a wig and painting apron for Bob’s costume and for the painting, you could be ambitious and try to replicate one yourself and cut a hole in it for your head or you could throw on an all brown outfit and glue some leaves on to be a happy little tree. This costume is great due to the few items that you need for it.
Men in Black is always a classic, and it is perfect because it is gender neutral. All you need for this idea is a black suit and tie with a pair of sunglasses. This idea also works well for dressing up as a group or by yourself.
If you are a fan of musicals, then another easy costume idea would be to dress up as Sandy or Danny. To dress like Sandy, you need some black leather pants and a black top; spice it up with some red high heels and red lipstick. For Danny, you will need some black jeans, white shirt and a black leather jacket. Don’t forget the hair gel and black converse, too.
Another easy idea, great for anyone, is to dress up as a Sim. Everyone loves the Sims and spent way too much time playing it in middle school. The only thing you need to be a Sim is to print off a pattern for the diamond, color it green and attach it to a headband. You can wear any clothes; dress formally to be a fancy Sim or dress in workout gear to be a sporty Sim. You can get as creative as you want with this one.
I can’t decide if this last idea is hilarious or cringey, but I’m begging someone to dress up as the Tiger King, also known as Joe Exotic, or Carol Baskin. All you need for this costume is tiger print. Head over to a local thrift store or hit up Amazon and see what you can find. This idea is great because you can go solo or, if you and a friend or significant other want to tag-team the idea, one person can be Carol Baskin and the other can be Joe Exotic.
Even though things look different this year, there is still fun in dressing up to celebrate. There are so many great options online at every price point available. I bet there is a great costume just waiting to be found in your closet.
