Nov. 4 is rapidly approaching, but there is still time to register to vote or request an absentee ballot before the presidential election.
True Blue Neighbors, a TU organization, is a great place to get registered to vote, whether your permanent address is in Oklahoma or another state.
“Anyone can walk in and we will provide the paperwork and help people work through the registration process in a non-partisan and purely informative way. We are also open for any questions relating to voting or registering in or outside Oklahoma,“ said Kyle Garrison, who works for True Blue Neighbors.
Since many people might be voting by absentee ballot this year, it is important to request and submit your ballot as soon as possible so you can ensure your vote gets counted.
“The 18-29 age group voted in the 2016 general election at only about a 46 percent turnout. We are hoping to do our best to increase the voter turnout here at TU and help students access any civic resources that they might need,” Garrison said.
True Blue Neighbors is located on-campus at 3126 E 5th Pl., Tulsa, OK. They are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. In most cases, it is fairly simple to register to vote or request an absentee ballot. Below is the information on how to do this in Oklahoma and the surrounding states. You can also visit https://vote.gov/ for more information on voting in your state.
