This week, Destination Tulsa is focusing on beverages. If you have been trying to find a new coffee shop or great happy hours, this is the article for you! There are lots of great options for coffee shops in Tulsa. 918 Coffee is a great option that is right by campus; it’s so popular that even Lana Del Rey has been spotted there. They have dine-in, carry-out and curbside options as well as a great patio. If you are wanting to get coffee delivered, you can order delivery through grubhub, which is always a plus. The Supercharged Cold Brew is a great option if you are planning on getting some serious studying in; it’s cold brew with a double shot shaken in. The Caramel Macchiato is definitely comparable to Starbucks if you like something sweeter to drink. Their vegan milkshake is also a hit, regardless if you are vegan or not.
Another great spot that is close to campus is Big Baby Rolls and Donuts. This place is perfect for on-the-go drinks with their drive-thru. If you are wanting a special sweet treat with your drink, this is the place to go. They have amazing donuts that come as regular, vegan or gluten-free. The menu is always changing so you are sure to find something new, fun and seasonal. I recommended the iced coffee with lavender syrup or the pumpkin spice iced coffee. Big Baby not only has great drinks and snacks, but it is also very Instagram friendly with an amazing graffiti wall out front. Follow them on social media to stay up to date with discounts and daily deals.
If you are willing to venture a little further away from campus, definitely try out Triangle Coffee. Triangle is available for pickup and has amazing breakfast burritos and tacos. The Cookie Butter Cortado is always a good choice, or if you want to go on the more traditional route, the Iced Late is great and can be made with whole milk, almond milk or oat milk. This is the place for plant people. They have amazing plants that really add to the atmosphere. This is also the place for you if you want to hunker down for the day to study for a big test; however, they are not open very late.
If you aren’t in the mood for coffee and are looking to have a nice happy hour with friends, Veldy’s is the place to be. This artisan cheese and wine spot is a must if you appreciate charcuterie boards. Their outdoor seating and cheese boards are great to share with friends. The apple cider mimosa is great if you are missing Oktoberfest and feeling like celebrating the fall season. If cheese isn’t your thing, check out their Dessert Board with local truffles, chocolate covered berries and almonds, pretzels and local honey. They have a great assortment of grilled cheeses and even a breakfast themed charcuterie board.
Another great spot for happy hour is Andolinis. They have a great selection of draft beers and slices of pizza available for $2.50. You can get a beer and a slice of pizza for $5 between 3-6 p.m. during the week. If you want to splurge, definitely order the garlic knots. You can get a free order with an AAA card or by signing up for emails on their website; be careful because they are addicting.
Tulsa has plenty of local coffee shop options to choose from. Each place is unique and special and offers plenty of study spots, or just a spot to catch up with friends. Tulsa is a very social city and it is clear that they are trying to create ways for people to still be social while remaining safe.
