Tennis returns for men and women with wins, a heartbreaking loss

This past week the men and women’s tennis teams started their regular season after playing in tournament around the country last fall. The 40th ranked team nationally men beat Illinois State 4–0 in both matches of their double header to start off their season in dominating fashion taking the doubles point and all three of the singles.

The Hurricane then hosted the 9th ranked Longhorns of Texas on Friday night. Going for the upset, Tulsa won the doubles point and 2 of the 6 singles points. Texas, after being pushed to the brink of being upset, rallied back and won 4–3 in a heartbreaking loss for Tulsa. Next up for the men is Kick-Off in Columbus, Ohio where they will face Purdue.
