“Dancing with the Stars” reveals Latest Season’s Cast

Season 29 of “Dancing with the Stars” announced the celebrity cast last week! The cast includes 15 celebrities from various realms of fame. Here is a quick list of who to expect on the dancefloor in the upcoming weeks!

Monica Aldama is an American cheer coach. She is best known for her work in the Netflix Docuseries “Cheer.”

Carole Baskin is best known from the Netflix Docuseries “Tiger King.” She is a quirky woman who owns a tiger conservatory in Florida. In the documentary, she is painted as the mortal enemy of the Tiger King, Joe Exotic.

Kaitlyn Bristowe is a Canadian television personality. She rose to fame in her appearance in the 19th season of “The Bachelor” in 2015. She placed third overall. From there, she was one of the bachelorettes in the 11th season of “The Bachelorette.” This was the first season ever to feature not one, but two Bachelorettes. Currently, she is a lifestyle blogger and podcast host for “Off The Vine.”

Vernon Davis is a former American football tight end. He was drafted to the San Francisco 49ers in 2006. In 2016, he was traded to the Denver Broncos and went on to win his first Super Bowl that same year. In 2017, he traded to the Washington Redskins where he announced his retirement in February 2020.

Anne Heche is an American actress, director and screenwriter. She is popular for her late 1990s films “Donnie Brasco,” “Volcano,” “Six Days Seven Nights” and “Return to Paradise.” In the early 2000s, she continued to act in many well-received independent films such as “Cedar Rapids” and “Rampart.”

Skai Jackson is an American actress, Youtuber and author. In 2016, Time’s listed her as one of the Most Influential Teens of that year. She is most recognizable from the cast of “Jesse” on Disney Channel. The majority of her work is roles in various Disney Channel and Nickelodeon shows.

Justina Machado is an American Actress. She might be one of the most famous celebrities in this DWTS cast. She has many iconic roles in current television. Her roles include Netflix sitcom “One Day at a Time,” the CW’s “Jane the Virgin,” HBO drama “Six Feet Under” and USA drama “Queen of the South.”

AJ McLean is an American singer, songwriter, actor and model. He is best known for being a member of the Backstreet Boys.

Jeannie Mai is an American television host and stylist. She hosts for the daytime show “The Real” and her makeover show “How Do I Look?”

Jesse Metcalfe is an American actor and musician. He is recognized for his role as John Rowland on “Desperate Housewives.” He also plays the title role in “John Tucker Must Die.”

Nelly is an American rapper, singer and songwriter. He is a familiar mainstream artist amongst millennials and Gen Z. A few of his most popular songs are “Just A Dream,” “Country Grammar,” “Hot in Herre” and “Dilemma” ft. Kelly Rowland.

Nev Schulman is an American television host and producer. He is best known for his 2010 documentary “Catfish.” Following this success, he went on to produce the MTV TV series “Catfish: The TV Show.”

Charles Oakley is an American former professional Basketball player. He played for the Chicago Bulls and the New York Knicks. He continues to rank as one of the best rebounders in the NBA.

Christall Stause is an American Actress. She is currently known as the host of Netflix reality show “Selling Sunset.” Her rise to fame came from her roles in popular soap operas “All My Children” and “Days of Our Lives.”

Johnny Weir is an American figure skater. He is a two-time Olympian and three-time US National Champion. In 2008, he was awarded as a World Bronze medalist in the International World Figure Skating Championships. He also recently appeared on the “Masked Singer” as the Egg.

Lastly, but certainly not least, they announced a new host, Tyra Banks! Supermodel and “American’s Next Top Model” host joined the franchise as host and executive producer this year. Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, the previous hosts, co-hosted for 28 seasons. Tyra is the first solo-host in the show’s history.

This season of “Dancing with the Stars” holds a celebrity cast that reflects 2020 just right: a mixed bag of absolute chaos. I can’t wait!
