Last year the University of Tulsa hosted the first TEDxUniversityofTulsa. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design. Their mission is to spread ideas worth sharing and to spark conversations and connections from community to community. TEDx is about bringing like minded people and even people who want to learn something new together and sparking new ideas to build a better future. TEDX events are organized by a motivated individual.
Last year this individual was Katie Snyder who hosted the theme Truth or Dare because “Truth often leads us to be daring, and daring often leads us to new truths.” Each year a new organizer is recruited to plan the next event in order to keep the ideas flowing. This year the event has been passed down to Sam Beckmann who will be organizing the theme “You Are Here” which will take place on Friday, March 31st 2017 at the Lorton Performance Center.
TEDxUniversityofTulsa is currently looking for speakers and performers with ideas worth sharing. To sign up yourself or nominate someone, visit TEDxUniversityofTulsa.co and apply.
“We know there are students and professors all around campus who can give great talk and we need everyone’s help to find them,” Beckmann said. You can find more information on the Facebook page or Twitter page.
