The newest season of The Great British Baking Show piqued the interest of many top porn companies.
Your bag of chips is full. Your blanket nest is warm. Netflix is pulled up and you’re ready to binge-watch the newest season of “The Great British Baking Show,” never mind the fact that the only thing you’ve ever baked is a bagel (and we all know how that went). You’re all excited for this fresh batch of wholesome episodes when you see it. All is not the same in the tent.
Now a Netflix original series, GBBS has some new faces on set; judge Prue Leith and hosts Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding have joined judge Paul Hollywood this season to critique the best amature bakers Britain has to offer. But that’s not what’s bothering you. You only have to go a few episodes deep before you spot it: a dick joke? And doesn’t that roll look a bit phallic? What’s with all these innuendoes?!
What’s happened to your preferred escape from reality?
You weren’t the only one to take notice of this shift in content from “The Great British Baking Show.” Only hours after the new season was released, show executives were bombarded with calls and emails from several top companies in the porn industry looking to acquire the reality program.
“I swear, our phones were ringing non-stop. We had calls from Brazzers, Reality Kings, PornHub and I don’t know how many more,” said executive producer Shelby May, “all wanting to buy the show!”
Something about 12 baking Brits slaving away in a hot tent to impress with their buttercream-iced buns has seemed to attract these companies. When probed about why they were interested in the program, PornHub replied, “We’ve been looking into expanding our original programming for a while now, but when we saw the sexual tension in that baking show, we were hooked.” Content director Tanya Woolsworth added, “It’s already so much better than anything else we have in the works and has tons of potential, not to mention an already loyal fanbase. We just have to have it!”
Netflix is purportedly open to the idea of selling so long as the cast is okay with the genre switch, which has left some longtime fans of the show shocked and some, well, intrigued.
“I ain’t mad about it. Paul Hollywood’s already daddy,” said student Jordan Belmont, who’s been watching the show since 2015. “And his name? Practically a pornstar already.”
“This is what I get for buying into this Netflix nonsense!” said baking enthusiast Carmen Henson, “Give this generation one smidge of power and they turn everything thing you love into a porno. I should have stuck with PBS.”
Although it has received bids from several porn companies in the last week, experts agree that Netflix will most likely sell to PornHub, who is offering the highest bid, sometime in the near future.
