The Golden Hurricane women’s soccer team picked up their first victory of the season on Friday against Utah Valley. For the majority of the game, Tulsa was on the back foot, against the strong Utah Valley attack. The Wolverines peppered TU’s goal, taking a whopping 27 shots, 12 of which were on target. Tana Dake took one of the Golden Hurricane’s two shots on goal with three minutes remaining, and beat the Utah Valley goalkeeper to take the 1-0 win. Owners of a 1-3-1 record, next up is a home game against James Madison on Sunday.
The men’s team was only in action for one game this week, an away game at Missouri State. It was close throughout, but the Bears were able to score a pair of goals early in the first half. Their defense was stout for the rest of the game, and they handed TU the 2-0 defeat. The Golden Hurricane are now 0-1-1 on the season. Their next two games will be part of a California road trip, against Santa Clara on Thursday and Stanford on Saturday.
